Gariahat is one of the posh suburbs located in the south of Kolkata. It is also known as Garia Haat. This locality is served by Kolkata Municipal Corporation. The stretch from the Gariahat crossing to the Park Circus crossing, passing through the posh Ballygunge area, is among the busiest and probably the most important artery road in south Kolkata. Industrial Training Institute, Gariahat is one of the oldest government vocational training institute located in Gariahat Road.
